Bluescope was approached by Marco Polo in January 2019 to discuss the website development of marcopolo.ie, a redesign of their existing site. At that time, the Marco Polo website was a simple yet visually appealing website but was unfortunately not mobile-friendly and displayed their food menus via PDF downloads.

By working closely with Marco Polo, Bluescope was able to create a striking new website with many features, including a fully mobile-responsive nature, great for displaying their wonderful food menus. This has proven to be very beneficial to Marco Polo’s large mobile user base. The new website includes e-commerce functionality to allow users to purchase and download gift vouchers electronically which can be spent in the restaurant.
As Marco Polo previously operated a website, Bluescope created the necessary 301 redirects which would direct users from Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs), such as Google, to their new relevant pages. The transition from the old site to the new was seamless and was performed in a matter of a minutes to ensure minimal downtime.
With SEO best practices implemented on the Marco Polo website, users are finding the pages they are looking for with great ease.
