Bluescope began discussing a website redesign project for the Crann Centre’s existing website, cranncentre.ie, in July 2020. Crann Centre were looking to give their existing site a face-lift with new colours and features, with user-friendliness and accessibility in mind.
The Crann Centre’s services are focused on, but not limited to, people who have Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Childhood Stroke, Spinal Cord Injuries, and their families.
As the website was previously built on WordPress CMS, Bluescope were able to migrate all content to a WordPress staging environment where we were able to begin re-building the website’s framework from the ground up. We worked closely with the Crann Centre team to ensure that their vision of this redesign was imagined.
The newly redesigned website was built with a focus on events as well the Crann Centre’s six core themes. These themes are integrated throughout various pages of the website as well as within the many fantastic events offered at the Crann Centre. All content from the existing website has been condensed into a very clear and concise menu structure, with search functionality available, to ensure that their users find the information they are looking for as quickly as possible.
Over the course of two months, the existing Crann Centre website remained live while we developed their new website in a staging environment. By working closely with the Crann Centre team, we were able to create a website tailored to their needs while keeping accessibility and mobile functionality in mind. The new website includes fully mobile-responsive design which allows their customers to view the site on any device. Accessibility features are available to users accessing the site on all devices, with features including; font resizing, highlighting of links, greyscale images, and more.Β
The new site replaced the old site with zero disruption and has been running smoothly since its launch in August 2020. We continue to maintain security of the website to ensure security remains at the highest standard.
