Cork Sports Partnership

Bluescope was approached by Cork Sports Partnership (CSP) in November 2020 to discuss a website redesign project for their site, corksports.ie. The goal of this new website was to reduce administration time and include a clear menu structure that end-users can easily navigate.

Most importantly, the new website was to include e-commerce functionality for programmes and events so that users of the website could book their place in one or many of the fantastic programmes that CSP offer. By hosting their own event management/ticketing system, it eliminated the need to use any third-party providers.

Cork Local Sports Partnership was established as part of a national network of 29 Local Sports Partnerships targeted to help people to get active and removes barriers to participation in sport and physical activity for all.

Throughout development, the existing CSP website remained live while we developed their new website in a staging environment. By working closely with the CSP team, we were able to create a website tailored to their needs while keeping mobile functionality in mind. The new website includes fully mobile-responsive menus which allows their customers to view on any mobile device.

All forms on the website were customised to direct to their correct email addresses to ensure that user queries reached the correct mailboxes. E-commerce functionality was integrated into the website to allow for secure payments to be made for programmes, courses, and events.

Before switching over to the new site, we ensured that all best practice SEO methods were in place, including necessary 301 redirects. Without these in place, Search Engines such as Google would not know which pages to send their customers. The new site replaced the old site with minimal disruption and has been running smoothly since its launch in October 2021.
