Bluescope was approached by Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership (KRSP) in May 2021 to discuss a redesign project for their website, krsp.ie. The new website was to include a fresh new look and feel, as well as an opportunity to showcase all of the amazing services, programmes, and events they have to offer.
Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership (KRSP) is one of the network of Local Sports Partnerships developed through Sport Ireland.Β Β The key aims of Local Sports Partnerships are to increase participation in sport and physical activity especially amongst specific target groups and to ensure that local resources are used to best effect.
During development of the new website, the existing KRSP website remained live while we developed their new website in a staging environment. By working closely with the KRSP team, we were able to create a website tailored to their needs while keeping mobile functionality in mind. The new website includes fully mobile-responsive menus which allows their customers to view on any mobile device.Β
As KRSP run their events on Eventbrite, we were able to integrate Eventbrite and the website together, to avoid the administration work of copying content to the website. The website now displays all upcoming programmes and events as per their Eventbrite calendar.
Furthermore, a Club Directory facility was set up on the website to allow users in Kilkenny to register for an account and add their club to the online directory. This offers clubs the opportunity to promote their club online as well as the flexibility to edit their club contact details, should the need arise.
Before switching over to the new site, we ensured that all best practice SEO methods were in place, including necessary 301 redirects. Without these in place, Search Engines such as Google would not know which pages to send their customers. The new site replaced the old site with minimal disruption and has been running smoothly since its launch in December 2021.
