Louth Local Sports Partnership

Louth Local Sports Partnership - monitors depicting website responsiveness across multiple devices.

Overview

Bluescope was approached by Louth Local Sports Partnership in April 2025 to discuss a website development project for their website louthlsp.com. They had previously operated a website that had become outdated and difficult to update, so we decided it would be best to begin anew.

Louth Local Sports Partnership, formally launched on 16th June 2008, is in place to provide support to sport and active recreation at local level in the Louth area. The key aims of the local sports partnerships are to increase participation in sport and physical recreation and ensure that local resources are used to best effect.

Over the course of six months, we worked alongside the team at Louth LSP to build and populate the new website using a mix of existing and new content. The Partnership runs a broad programme of activity – for young people, older adults, women and girls, and communities across the county – so a primary objective was making that volume of content easy to navigate and easy for the team to keep up to date. Upcoming events are pulled onto the website automatically from the Partnership’s own events platform and displayed across the site, keeping listings current without duplicate data entry. Selecting an event title or its Book Now button takes the user straight through to the booking page in a new tab.

The website also features an embedded Get Ireland Active map, giving users a searchable view of every type of club operating in County Louth, alongside a National Governing Body finder and dedicated club governance and funding resources. Newsletter signup was integrated into the footer so that it appears on every page, and connected to the site’s contact form – allowing users to subscribe with a single checkbox as they get in touch.

Accessibility was a priority throughout this build. The website was developed with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) in mind, applying WCAG 2.1 Level AA best practices across colour contrast, keyboard navigation, headings and page structure, form labelling and descriptive link text. User-facing high contrast and font size toggles were built into every page. Best practice SEO methods were put in place throughout, and redirects were implemented to ensure that users are not greeted with a 404 page when visiting the site through Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).

Duration of Development

Bluescope began website development in May 2025 and the website was completed in November, 2025.
