Wytchwood B&B

Bluescope was approached by Wytchwood B&B in June 2024 to discuss a website development project for their B&B in Clonakilty, Co. Cork. Wytchwood B&B did not previously operate a website, therefore we were able to assist with the setup of the website from start to finish.

Wytchwood B&B sits in a uniquely quiet and peaceful cul-de-sac in the centre of Clonakilty town, famed for its food, music, history and culture.

We began the development by discussing potential domain names that were preferred, suitable, as well as what was available. It was settled that wytchwoodclonakilty.ie would work best. Thus, this was purchased and we were then able to set up the website. As this was a brand new domain, it wasn’t necessary to create a staging website (i.e. staging.wytchwoodclonakilty.ie), therefore, we placed a ‘Coming Soon’ page as the main landing page for the public, until we were ready to go live with the new website.

Over the course of a month, we worked hand-in-hand with Wytchwood B&B to insert content and imagery across the website to showcase the beautiful property and it’s surroundings. A contact form was placed on the website for users to get in touch. The link to this form was displayed prominently across the website.

As this would be a brand new website and a brand new domain, Google and other search engines can sometimes take their time to index these sites. To speed this along, we implemented best practice SEO methods, including the installation of Google Analytics to monitor our efforts.

Bluescope began website development at the end of June 2024 and the website was completed the next month, in July 2024.
