Overview

Bluescope was approached by Laois Sports Partnership in May 2024 to discuss a website development project for their website www.laoissports.ie. They had previously operated a WordPress website but it had become outdated and plugins no longer functioned as they should. It was decided that it would be best to start from scratch.

Laois Sports Partnership is a leader in local sports development in Ireland and is one of the founding partnerships.

Over the course of five months, we worked alongside the team at Laois Sports to populate the new website using a mix of existing and new content. A primary objective for this website development was to showcase and sell tickets to upcoming programmes and events at Laois Sports Partnership. To have this functionality within the website meant that users no longer had to leave the website to purchase tickets on a third party site, nor did Laois Sports have to pay for ever-rising third party subscription fees. The new website displays a list of all upcoming events across the website and tickets are available to be purchased, where applicable.

Best practice SEO and accessibility methods were put in place throughout this website. Redirects were also implemented on the website to ensure that users are not greeted with a 404 page when visiting the site through Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).

The new website was launched in mid-November 2024 and replaced the previous site with no downtime. Google Analytics and Search Console were created and linked to monitor the performance of the new website.
